Q. I was hit by a car while I was riding my bike. What are my rights?
A. Bike riders must obey all motor vehicle laws. If you were injured, your automobile in surance policy will pay your medi cal bills up to your policy limits un der your personal injury protection coverage. If you have no auto in surance then the insurance com pany of the car that hit you will pay your medical bills under their per sonal inJury protection coverage but only if you have no other pri vate or public medical insurance or do not qualify for public insurance. In addition, you have a claim for the damage to your bike and your injuries if you were not at fault for the accident under the adverse party's property and liability cover age.
